One of my favorite birds at absolutely my favorite pond.
I'm so fortunate that the birds are always cooperative, and at this time of the year the afternoon light and BG's are magical. The POV is a bit higher than I normally get due to having to shoot over some grass and reeds at the edge of the pond.

All C&C are greatly encouraged and most appreciated. Thanks for looking at what I love to do.
I always know that I'm going to see something special when I open a presentation thread by you, Kirk! This one certainly doesn't disappoint. I've never seen an avocet myself, but your images (in this thread as well as previous ones) convey a certain elegance about them through the combination of the bird's own beauty and the sense of serenity I get from your nicely blurred, soft backgrounds. Thanks for sharing these fabulous images from your favorite pond!
Your photography gives the viewer an intimate view into the life of a beautiful creature that one would not normally get to experience. I can certainly see why this bird and this pond are some of your favorite subjects. Taken together at the correct time of day, they produce images of stunning quality! WOW! I love them all!

There is nothing to offer from me on any crits that is for sure. You have adopted to PS very well my friend
Nice sharpness with the side profile type shots, nice coloring overall. Love the subject as well as the low level work Kirk, it all goes together nicely
For the heck of it what does a shot look like with the greens denatured? Might be fun to play with like tones throughout on one of these? Just a challenge for you to tinker with
Super beautiful, glad you and that pond are in harmony again!
