p.1 #1 · Nikkor Medical 200mm Mkll

I have just bought one of these lenses and would be grateful if someone could tell me how to get access to the pilot lamps and flash tube.

I found a picture of the Mk1 which showed the end cover pulled forward but nothing on the Mk2

Any help appreciated.

Thank you, I hadn't seen that entry. It has the comment:-

For both lenses, the front ring (upon which the lens combinations are imprinted) may be removed to gain access to the modeling lights. They are simple 2.5V bulbs, and can probably be replaced with similar threaded electric torch bulbs. The front lens ring (to which the supplementary lenses are attached) serves as a retaining ring for the flash tube, and may also be removed.

I have loosened the tiny grub screw and tried to remove the front ring but am afraid of damaging something if I use any more force. I think that must be the way in though.

I note that Ebay listings tend to include "4 spare bulbs".

Good luck with it.
