My sister has a second home in ST.George Utah. I went down there and asked her what they had to shoot around here. She took me to Snow Canyon 10 minutes from her house. It was totally deserted and awesome. Fell in love with that whole area. Never made it to Zion, but I didn't care. Could easily leave the mountains and cold of Colorado for St. George Going back in three weeks for 20 days.
Those clouds are amazing! We stayed nearby when we went out to Utah, I ended up spending just as much time at Snow Canyon as I did in Zion. It's really an incredible place with lots of variety in a fairly small area
Appreciate it everybody. It is an amazing little State park. Has 5 pullout parking areas, and each one gives access to very different and unique landscapes. For you locals down there if you have any other suggestions for me when I'm down there, that would be great.
Wonderful shot Brian, great work with the clouds. Your comment reminded me of when I drove rt 12 with a brother several years ago and we laughed endlessly that 'If this were back east, it would be a national park too!" I guess it's the bitter sweet stuff of living in southern Utah.

Those dark clouds make it for me, even if exaggerated a bit perhaps
Good image. Again, I suspect a little exaggeration but it works in this photo.
Glad you like my town! Snow Canyon has a few hidden gems. If you visit my website you'll see I've been there plenty over the years. Lots to do and see and photograph.
