I'd like to show you one picture of my recent trip to the Eastern Sierra. I've been at the Mammoth Lakes for 2 days and I really loved it. My favourite was an area called Hot Creek. This shot was taken 10 minutes before sunrise:
Very nicely done. The tones are really good and I like the composition with the bendy stream leading toward the peak. The middle 3rd of the image is really what draws me in. I'd experiment with some 4x5 crops.
Awesome image Nubcake, beautiful morning light on the Sierras. Can't see anyway to improve it, other than the 4x5 crop mentioned.
Mammoth Hot Springs is a favorite place which has gone through many changes over the years. In the '60's it was a hangout for skinny dipping hi-schoolers, myself included. The '70's and '80's things went down hill to the point it was closed off to the public. Now it's regulated for limited day use and of course if you fish you have special rights
