All the photos are really nice, but I keep going back to the first one. That is a wall hanger if I ever saw one!! The clouds just add so much to a good composition.

Terrific images. I am envious of the clouds you enjoyed during your stay as I was there for a week of clear blue skies recently. Congrats!
Thanks Luvwine! Yes we got some nice atmospherics on our trip. Very lucky.

Love it!

Thanks Bob. Number 1 was shot within a few minutes of arriving in the Valley at Tunnel View. It was snowing lightly when we got the and the Valley was almost completely obscured by clouds. No shot. By the time we has set up the tripods the storm started clearing, and for about an hour we had these great conditions. We all felt after the first hour, we could have gone home happy for the trip. The ret became bonus time.
1bwana1 - I love your horsetail falls shot and your second tunnel view shot as well. Did you just happen to be there when the azimuth was just right for the fire shot or plan it?
Nothing new? Every day, every hour and with every photographer there's something new in this magnificent place.
I am glad you enjoyed the images Ronny. Thanks for the kind words.

Gorgeous images, but man, those dead trees seen in the valley from Tunnel View are getting pretty bad. Such a shame...
Thank you Matt. Yes, the bark beetles are getting bad.

Thank you Norman. Two photography buddies and I planned this trip so that we would be there for the Horsetail Falls event. We got lucky on this trip in so many ways and came away with many nice images.
By nothing new I meant that these were images of the standard Yosemite icons. But, you are so right, nature always present unique opportunities for us to photograph. More true in special places like Yosemite.
1bwana1 - Just curious, was there a huge crowd of photographers? It looks as though you found a place that was a little higher in elevation, since you got some of the snow on top in with the falls. I like it with the snow on top. I have never gone because I anticipated crowds. I always figured I'd need to get there about 3 hours before the light, just to stake out a spot.
Norman- I shot this from the Southside Road area. From here all the images have the top visible. The day before we shot from the North side at El Cap picnic area. From there you do not get the top in your images. Yes, the crowd was huge, I did not find a secrete spot that is for sure. As you said, we staked our position about 3 hours early. Locations with a good view are few, and demand was high. I will say that the group was friendly and helpful. Actually, if you had the right attitude, it was kind of a fun, festival thing. I enjoyed myself. I don't think you go to the Yosemite Valley for a wilderness experience anyway. It is more of an urban park these days. You need to go up top for a more peaceful adventure.
Super work here. It's great to see some well done daytime shots. I really am having a hard time picking any favorites though, I might have to just pick all of these!

Thanks Jim, your comments always mean a lot to me. We were very fortunate this trip with conditions allowing for good shooting throughout the days. As you know, this is often not the case.
