I look forward to shooting fall colors every year, so I spent as much time as I could last fall exploring around Washington and Oregon, seeking out color and trying to find some unique locations. This photo is one of my favorites from those explorations. This was captured along the Klickitat River near Glenwood, Washington. This is an area I had not visited before, and I look forward to returning to explore it some more.

Very nice! I usually shoot upstream, but this makes me think of having to look downstream too. I like the processing for most part too, though having an old Velvia habit means I miss some blacks, though that might actually be worse than what you have.

Very cool shot Kris, love the exposure and low hanging mist...
Thanks! That mist/fog didn't stick around long. The sun was threatening to come out when I took this, and it did come out in full force about 5 minutes after this. The remaining fog quickly burned off.

I usually shoot upstream too, but I really liked this composition, so I thought I'd take a stab at shooting downstream in this case. I'm glad you like it here!
I've never shot Velvia (or any film) myself, so I don't have that point of comparison for my own work. I appreciate the feedback though.

Hey Kris,
This is really awesome! Almost like a painting with how you worked the light.
I voted for this.

Thanks, Jim! I appreciate it. As I mentioned above, this light didn't last long at all, so I felt fortunate to get there when I did.

A great depiction of a classic Cascade Foothills fall scene. Nice work.
