Yes it is that time of year again....the faithful parents stayed the winter which gives them the advantage of having a leisurely couple months to get the nest rebuilt for late March egg laying. These were shot this afternoon and marked the first time this year I'd seen them doing any work on the nest....I had seen them around previously.
The great thing about wildlife photography for me is that even though I pretty much have these exact shots from the past couple years, it is still a thrill to be out there watching them and pushing the trigger
Great set with 1 and 5 stunners. I agree and it's never quite the same when the behaviour repeats.
Morris
Thanks Morris. Yes, there is always some new behaviour to capture. Hoping for catching some more mating this year.

Wonderful light on these. Number 5 is the cream, should be printed. Your year is set. Doesn't look too cold there; or is it?!!
Don
Thanks Don. It has been very mild (for us) since Christmas and the day I took these was about -5C.
Really enjoy seeing these every year Geoff, and these are a great start to the 2016 edition.
Very well done as always, terrific compositions, and a true pleasure to view.
Beautiful images, Geoff.
If I have the nest near like this, I would take off the whole month to photograph these, or even build the watch center to visit this couple every season.
Geoff,
These are amazing! Any one of them would be a dream image for me. The behavior and interactions captured just make me want to look at the pictures all day.
I am always excited to see your name when a new post comes up because I know it will always be a top notch set. Now exception this time, great job as usual. Bruce
