Tim, thanks! As for how to find them, tap into your local birding communities. You may have local Audubon branches that have information on where to find different birds. I subscribe to a birding e-mail list out of the University of Washington that gives information on recent sightings. In Washington state, there is a great book - "The Birder's Guide to Washington" - that lists a huge number of state wide locations and what species can typically be found each season. One last thing - patience, and sometime luck, help. Good luck!
