Hey Jim, if you head o the far end of the lakes there is an area that is hotspring fed, usually has some open water there to shoot around! Careful though the ice isn't thick... Had a friend go through the same morning we took these.
Hey Erik,
So what are the road conditions like this time of year? Are there places open to camp?
Jim

The roads right now are pretty good actually. In and around the park you want good tires but they are very driveable. Not too sure I suggest camping unless you are really set up for it. This morning is was -27c at Lake Louise.
Thanks for the note on the upload feature, I'm new here and don't really know what I'm doing haha.

Beautiful Sunrise at the Vermilion Lake.
I have been there whenever I went to Canadian Rockies, but I never had this kind of sunrise.
Your pictures brightened this year's Christmas DayI
