John: Correction is, it is "my pond." A history lesson is needed. I have been photographing bald eagles at the same site since 2007. Along the way, I coined the phrase "my pond", "the pond" on Fred Miranda when I posted my first bald eagle shots.

In those days back to 2012, there were far many more eagles than photographers or on-lookers. The same is not true today.

Am I fortunate for the images I captured and posted in this thread, yes I am but, I put in many more hours this year than any previous year and I had

I gladly grant you the phrase, but there are many who started shooting there before you and they don't begrudge the ones who followed. Just consider yourself lucky that before you didn't need to be there as early as we now all have to be.

Can you name the many or the few? I know many who came before me and all, like me do begrudge the change. We all know and accept it will get worse before it gets better. That is the way it is. Ya' can't get an eagle shot sitting at home.

There are some I met over there and some who replied privately to your comments on my site when I wrote about the dam. Since they communicated with me privately, I'm not going to name them here.

And, yes, it is going to get more crowded because I heard it will be featured on national TV soon.

Then again, it's already very well known. Today, I met people from Massachusetts, Houston and Georgia there. Earlier, I've met people from all over the East Coast, California and Thailand.

I'm not going to give you names, not by PM either. That just wouldn't be right.

If you go back to my blog, you'll now also find comments from people who disagree with you and from locals who say we all block their previous access. Point is, the place is no secret and everybody has a right to be there. End of story.

I didn't forget China. I've met many Asian-Americans, including Chinese-Americans, at the dam, but so far nobody who actually came from China.

You say 'usual' I say splendidly unusual poses

I will admit, I do get tired of looking at Eagle pictures at some point UT, but at this point I can't wait to see more like these from you! You seem to have captured more of the 'unique' than the norm here and the processing truly looks wonderful
Lots of likes but special likes are 7,19,20,29 and super #36!

Fantastic shooting my friend..........
Karl

thanks my ole friend

Don't know if you made it, but I just spent three days there. It's pretty quiet. All those eagles who were there last week seem to have moved elsewhere (for now?). This was my fourth visit this season and by far the quietest.

Thanks for the update. Maybe she will find a good nest site, as I would guess this would be the first year to start one.

My pleasure and thanks again.

It seems you have an admirer Ted I am sure he will read this and reply John i live just a few miles from the dam and have been going there since 08 I know for a fact that no one goes there more than me i am semi retired so don't even go there. I have watched the crowd go from 7 or 8 of us to well over 7 or 8 hundred. I for one do not begrudge anyone the oppertunity to view this magnificent bird but for you to say the many (7--8) people who shot before us don't is an out right lie You show your ignorance by not coming up to us and explaning your position believe me if i do see and recognize you i would not hesitate one second to explain my position I go in Jan.Feb when its cold i see maybe two people and i know you are not one of them Even if i did not photograph them i would still go. Feel free to PM me with those names I know who THEY are and they do not know you
