This was a tough one to get as I didn't have anyone to help me. Many many practice snaps to get comp, lighting, focus and exposure correct and after 1.5 hours I finally went live (hot) and got this image on the second attempt out of 3 shots. The other 2 shots didn't capture any or very little muzzle flash so I made a few camera adjustments and got this one.
Oh, and my wrist hurts just looking at that monster going off
Yep, I knew what ya meant and I answered honestly. The big shiny trigger was the only trigger I used.
I will say that I could have used more than 10 seconds to hustle around and get into place though.
I'm just glad nobody was around with a video camera. I must have looked like I was nuts while I was working out the entire choreograph sequence of all my moves and positions in the dark using a little flashlight.
And yep, she does have a little kick to her. I can easily shoot her single handed but I can't keep it in inside the 10 ring at anything more than 25 yards shooting it that way.
So you used like a 10 second timer on the shutter to get into position and then just shot when the flash went off with a longer exposure to make sure you captured everything?
