Hi everyone,
After a long break, I finally took some landscape pictures during Thanksgiving.
I drove to Grand Canyon for a couple of days and then spent time with the family in Phoenix, Arizona.
This was was taken on my first night. Only one shot without filters using this technique. (here)

Thanks for your comments,
Fred

Beautifully done,i like the sharp wide coverage,It captures everything around. The picture that you took with your camera is the imagination you want to create with reality. This image is a triumph of perseverance.

Great shot Fred. It is always nice to have some colorful clouds to compliment a great composition like this one. Thanks for the A7r2 ETTR tips that you posted, I've been shooting with them since you originally posted that tip and it works great.

nice shot but the haze behind the tree creates an odd effect. Since it is only behind the tree it makes it look a bit odd. I know its likely not due to editing but it gives it a bit of the halo effect.

The colors and light are excellent here Fred. I'd look at the right side again and again and appreciate all those colors and details. The left side - not so much. I'm not a fan of including a large trees at the edge of frame, although yours has nice colors and details.... But maybe this was the only possible angle?

That's one sweet view, Fred.
I read through the technical aspect involved in taking this photograph, yet have to confess it is way beyond my understanding My 'old' 5D died last year, and I kind of miss its simplicity of use (although conveniently forgetting about its limitations, such as DR).

Fred

Great light that you exploited very well! I will have to check out that technique. I was there in mid July on the North Rim. So amazing!

Keep on shooting and posting!

Mike

I'm glad you found that technique useful. The set-up is fast and it always gives me good results. Anything helps to reduce our reliance on filters.
Take care,
Fred

Very Nice Photo Fred! My one comment would be that the clouds and the canyon wall behind the tree are much lighter than the rest of the scene.
