It is not the models choice. It is a Punk Rock Couture story approved by the magazine. Flare is intentional.

Not picking on you, dalite (and very nice additional comment there at the end), there have been a number of other comments in various threads critical of "the look" being pursued in Ben's sessions - and those of others who are crafting something exaggerated for the sake of the assignment or their personal artistic vision. Admittedly, that is what we (as photographers) sometimes ask for critique and opinion on, but all too often we (as reviewers) without similar courage or vision click and type and click and type some more poking at the wrong thing.
Folks, theatrics is a time honored tradition and practice and profession going back thousands of years.
This is just a thought but sometimes, once in a while, we may find it useful... and even liberating, to pause being so f**king obsessed with our own particular tastes and anxious desire to throw rocks... and for just a moment consider the point of view of the assignment, the art director, the photographer, the concept - whether right or wrong - and simply ponder whether the objective was achieved.
