Terrific series. Breathtaking wide angle shots that really capture the magical mood of the place (a place I've never been, unfortunately). What an incredible number of eagles perched in close proximity!

I in awe! What an awesome experience this had to be and you captured it very well. I will probably go thru these images many times because looking at them once do not give them justice. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks, Jim! Hope to see you around shooting!

Absolutely incredible set! Wow! I first picked #5 as my choice but then as I scrolled down I lost track because there are just too many OMG shots here. I wouldn't have any wall space left after a single outing like this.
#27 is just crazy. I think I would need to be heavily medicated if I ever saw such a sight in my life.
Nice job!
Dave
Thanks, Dave! That particular stand of trees is an eagle favorite, but they are literally everywhere you look! An amazing sight, for sure!

Awesome work! Especially love the combination of landscape and eagles.
Looked at flying to Haines. Expensive and a 28-hour trip, apparently. Maybe one day, I'll go.
I'm wondering how you trekked with all that gear over there and how you managed to get all that stuff on what I assume were multiple flights.
Thanks, John. The arrangements were actually not as expensive as you might imagine. I did get a really good deal on the airfare, though. PM me if you would like details.
As far as traveling with the gear, I didn't have any issues at all with Delta. I put the tripod and head in checked luggage, and carried on the following: 2 1DX, 7D2, 11-24, 24-70, 100-400, 200-400, 800, chargers, batteries, and 15" laptop. Lens hoods packed in check in. I wrap each item in neoprene so I don't need dividers in the bag. I put the two long lenses in an Fstop XL ICU, and the rest of the stuff in a military backpack that fits under the airline seat.

I'm not usually a fan of environmental shots with eagles but these are stellar. As far as individual close ups #4 stands out to me.
Thanks a lot, Robert!

Those are incredible images. You certainly captured the 'feel' of the area.
Adding that to my list of dream trips.

Thanks! Definitely worth the trip, hope you make it out there!

These are drop-dead gorgeous!
I really enjoyed the mix of portraits, flight and "eagle-scales." As a lover of minimalism in nature photography, my favorites in your set are numbers 8, 12 & 22.

I know it has been said before but I just wanted to commend you on the great photographs. Thanks for sharing them with us. I know it must not have been easy with the cold weather but I bet it was fun.

I'd love to hear some details about the trip, how to get to this magical place, and your overall travel experience. I haven't been to Alaska yet, but am going to be planning a trip in the next year or so, and I don't know where to go.
By the way, your pictures are just breathtaking...both closeups as well as landscapes. Amazing, thanks for sharing.
