p.1 #1 · Late In The Early Game

The other shot I posted was much earlier in the sunrise than this shot...hence the title. So awesome to be there. Always appreciate the continued feedback.

Hey Jon,

This is really nice, maybe nicer then the previous ones. I like the motion in the water and how it mimics the sky.

You've captured some spectacular conditions! You could try to tone down the brightest parts on the sky. I would also darken (less shadow recovery) of the mountain and landscape on the left and rocks in the centre and to the right.

What an awesome Sunrise! My only comments, I am guessing this is a blend due to the large amount of DR? Looks like where the trees meet the hill on the left side of the river, something looks just a bit odd there. May be just burn the light part of the hill a bit and smooth it out? Over all, nice work!

I tried some of the suggestions. Any better?

I am no where near the talent of ArturS...but to me, they both still look like heavy blends that are a bit unbalanced, the sky just seems much to vibrant...maybe it was really like that...just looks off to me. The second version now looks more like the remnants of an ND grad on the hill on the left, a transition is more noticeable. It is some wild light, that is for sure!

Hi Travis. That area that looks like the remnant of an ND or GND is actually being caused by the gap light that is shooting through the valley. I really took my time on the current blend (one shot for the sky exposure; one for the foreground). Yes...the sky was really that vibrant. Said too often, but true in this case, "one of those once-in-a-lifetime shots"
