Found a little bit of fall color while on lunch today. The color isn't quite at its peak yet, but it shouldn't be too much longer. It felt good to get out in the rain and shoot something besides eagles for a change.
The grist mill in the background is only ran a few days out of the year and was constructed by student workers. The wooden overshot waterwheel, considered one of the largest in the world at 42 feet in diameter, was also constructed by student workers. Lastly, pieces of the Disney movie Remember the Titans was filed at Berry College. The overshot (in motion for the movie) was featured in the background as the football team went on an early morning run to Gettysburg.
Fifty+ views and no responses? This is very nice. I really like your clean, uncluttered composition. The cold moody feel is also perfect way to impart the feeling of coming winter. This should be printed LARGE!

Thanks! The "Old Mill" is one of the local land marks in the area, so it was nice to get a shot where it was still recognizable, but not the focus of the photo.
Nice photo Jason. Love the depth of field you chose for this shot. Only slight critique I have is that the orange at the top, not quite enough to add to the photo, but enough to distract a little. all and all, nice work.
Nice perspective, like the leaf and color contrast in the foreground and the leading lines to the cabin. I might trim the top down below the bright leaves as they tend to draw my eye. Berry College has a very pretty campus, a friend's daughter recently graduated from there.
Thanks everyone. I didn't even notice the orange leaves at the top, but now they're bugging me as well. I may try to clone stamp them out before I crop it. As for perspective, I was shooting blind on this one. I had an idea of what I wanted, but since I was on lunch and the weather wasn't great, I couldn't get down on the ground to see what I was shooting. I took the shot from a catchers stance with the lens hood resting on the bench and battery grip on my knee. It took a couple of tries and moving the focusing point around to get what I wanted, but it all worked out in the end.
