It was my first time in Glacier National Park, Montana. I was hoping to get calm weather for nice reflections at sunrise in the lakes but when i got there it was storm force wind so i used a Neutral Density filter to smooth out the water and it also created a cool effect with the clouds which were a combination of clouds formation and smoke from the still burning wildfires in the park.
1- This is Mount Grinnell at Sunrise from the shores of Swiftcurrent Lake in Glacier National Park, Montana.
2- This is a scene in the Many Glacier side of Glacier National Park, Montana. There was a wildfire still burning in the park, clouds and smoke mixed together to give this apocalyptic sky at sunset. Long exposure using the Canon 5DSR
3- Here is something a bit different, The files of the new Canon 5DSR are very impressive with so much detail. I was looking for a foreground with a lot of textures to take advantage of all the detail. I found this section of dry mud while exploring the shoreline of Sherburne Lake on the Many Glacier side of Glacier National Park, Montana at sunset
In Glacier NP it is all about the conditions and subtle composing variations since most areas have been photographed extensively. You did good in both!
If I were to make a print I would choose #1 but also love #2, really enjoy looking at that image. Perfect depiction of fall in GNP. The views, the weather, the colors. Very nice.
I do not know which camera you used but it looks like the 5DS/R to me because of some issues I have with the colors, specially the reds, a bit too pastel like (something I have mentioned in other threads) and have more to do with the color profile/processing. But, I could be wrong.
