What is an interstellar nebulae made of if not waste? A fine example of what our universe does with waste products. It recycles! New stars are born and quite possibly proto-planets as well.
This was taken from my back yard with my AT65EDQ 65mm f/6.5 ED quadruplet astrograph and 1Dx, over a metro area of more than 2 million people. (Between 8 & 9 on the Bortle scale).
Best of luck to all on this very challenging week.

Dang Greg! Fantastic image! I didn't know you were into astrophotography.
Nice work Mr!

Thanks Dave. My first DSLR was a Canon Rebel xsi and before I took one photo with it I took it apart and removed the Ir filter in front of the sensor. I quickly learned that doing astrophotography was a hobby I enjoyed only a few times a year whereas photography could be enjoyed any time I felt like it. It wasn't long before I purchased a non-modified DSLR and I was hooked.
I sold 3 of my telescopes to buy Canon lenses but I kept the little Astro-Tech and my CGEM so I could still do stuff like Orion.

I fancy doing this with my old 350D but as I am not very technically minded have shied away from it—is it a difficult job?
