So I finally made it up to Canada this past September. I had long considered Moraine Lake to be one of the most picturesque mountain lake scenes I had gazed upon through photo.
I arrived late in the evening and identified the rock pile. Unfortunately I did not figure out that there is a well worn trail up said rock pile. So I scrambled to the top well after dark only to find that there was indeed an easy way up. Doh. Thankfully I had a clear sky and periodic calming of the lake.
The next morning featured a cloudless sky and a rough lake at sunup. Not too interesting, but it did calm down long enough to get a nice mirror shot.

Just long exposure (25sec) with moderately high ISO. (4000 I think) Then pushed it a bit in post.
Yeah, bit different a frame from the location. I found it while stumbling around in the dark. Worked with the village light below instead of shying away from it.
