It really is!!! After my canon broke after many years I opted to rent the sigma just for the trip....and of course I bought it the second day I got back, lol.
And ya, I tend to shoot everything wide open unless I'm shooting a landscapes which I suck at

I haven't had time to read through all the posts, but just count me as another speechless admirer. Talk about juxtapositions! One photo makes you smile, then the next conjures all kinds of emotions - sadness, guilt..... These are just phenomenal. Good luck with whatever you decide to do. If it hasn't been mentioned, perhaps a show with some or all of the proceeds going toward the charity. These really do need to be seen; I do the safari thing in parts of southern and east Africa but I doubt many people make it to Ghana (and many other African countries). Bravo!

Thanks so much guys! So with the head of the NGO we're going to start an Indie GoGo funding campaign, just to get the stuff printed and plaque mounted. The hardest part as some people have mentioned will be editing down to figure out what will be shown....prolly be the toughest part of this whole process!!! Pretty sure we're gonna do a small run of books to show more photos and give people that can't afford a print from the show something to buy. All the monies will be going to specific projects that we already set up in the villages when we were there.
What a great experience this has all been. Thanks again!!!
Oh and I forgot to mention that ya the trip was exhausting. Many days of shooting were worthy of "shooting a wedding" and then the sheer traveling was the craziest. I've traveled before but never like that. After the ridiculous plane rides, we had to take taxi's packed with people and then these things called tro-tro's that were also PACKED with people for a total of probably 15hrs...all while keeping a camera out and gear close. The roads seriously looked like the surface of the moon. All of our luggage at one point got tied to the top of a tro-tro and then a tire blew and our luggage went "flying a little" :-) I would and will totally do it again tho. All the hard parts were nothing compared to meeting and helping so many great people!!

These are amazing set of images. The people are so beautiful, and in contrast, the life looks so tough! I wish you had written a short 1-2 sentence back stories for these, just like the one for the tailor. Great work! Thanks for sharing!

WOW! Nice job! Have you sent some to Sigma (with copyrights on image) to see if they use them in their marketing? Those images will sell a lot of those lenses.
