Absolutely wonderful imagery you have here. The photo of the two young girls watching the TV with color bars....I would frame that and put it on my wall.

Also, the young boy with the tilted hat. Magical work my friend.

Really really appreciate everyones kind words. It was such an amazing job to be a part of!! I've been out of the country for many things altho almost always weddings, so I've been able to go around on my own and take photos of the people, culture etc in those countries but NOTHING like this!

It's something I'm really proud of and won't soon forget and if start to I can always look back at the pics :-)

Does anyone have any ideas of what I can do with them? They're for an NGO and will be used for promotional purposes for them but what do you gjuys think I should do....a gallery show, a book?

Thanks again!!

Love these! The people in Ghana are very friendly.

What part of Ghana were you in? I've been there a couple of times, primarily in Yendi and the surrounding villages.

hey jay, they really are great people there!!!

I was asked to be part of an NGO called Change the World of One as their Senior Photographer. The woman who came up with the organization lived for almost 3 yrs in the Village of Asiri..about 1/2 hour from Sampa as a peace cporp worker. She is such an amazing person and already has helped her village in so many ways during her peace corp days.

We spent some time in Accra but most of the time was spent in the village, Asiri, where we visited with her friends and family, played with the kids a lot and planned out future projects for Change the World of One with the villagers including building a technical school, A library, sanitation, water solutions, cashew tree plans, and more.. We also visited some other villages where we will do projects, especially the village of Jamera in the Jaman North District where we had traditional ceremonies with all three chiefs.

Wish we had more time there, everything went smoothly and we got a lot done. We ate lots of rat, fufu, banku, coco and other Ghanaian foods :-)

I think Tailand or Mexico are next, but still a ways down the road because we have to get these projects in Ghana off the ground first.

Very cool. I never got that far west when I was there. Other than a brief excursion to Mole National Park on the way home (the one tourist-y thing we did), we didn't go farther west than Tamale or Kumasi.

Did you get to watch them make fufu? I'm always amazed they don't end up with crushed hands...

Pretty sure I stayed one night in Kumasi at a place they called, "the murder hotel" ..... It really wasn't that bad.

and yes I watched much fufu making....they really smash the crap outta that stuff forever!!!! :-) And I ate rat once....and swear it tastes exactly like pot roast :-)

Wow, very eye opening. I think we can all agree that we take things for granted. Seeing these children and thinking of what the future holds for them makes me feel sad.
Nice use of the 35 f/1.4.
