I had a free morning a few days ago and decided to make a quick drive to Lake Louise. Getting a colorful sunrise at this location is tricky as it faces West and typically doesn't get too vibrant. I usually don't go here due to the crowds but this morning it wasn't very busy at all.
Beautiful shot Gary. I'm not sure if I'd crop out those foreground rocks, they are very strong and really hold my attention rather than leading me into the frame. Still love it though.

Gary. I find Lake Louise to be very tough to compose. Too much symmetry. So I rarely go there.
I think your composition overcomes the left to right symmetry of the location.
Good color and composition. The only thing that I would suggest is even closer to the water to minimize the lake.
Thanks for sharing. Scott
Thanks Scott. I thought about "minimizing" the lake but then it would mean including more sky which was not that colourful. Thanks for the feedback....
Beautiful and impressive capture, Gary! IMO, the rocks should definitely stay, but I would consider cropping the sky to just above the mountains. End the end it's all just quibbling, as I would proudly hang this one on my wall as is!
I really like it, I am partial to good anchoring foregrounds in vertical images, and this does that nicely for my eye. The great color combinations are very nice too.
Nicely done Gary! I would probably frame it similarly. I do think anchoring the picture with those oblong rocks is a good choice. If anything I would see if an even lower composition would do to the picture. The sky is nice but not overly dramatic. And the dramatic part is in that V.
