This lovely sunrise over an autumn marsh near the High Peaks region of the Adirondacks was truly a sight to behold. I was so excited to see those rays forming over the mountains! The S-curve of the stream was what drew me towards this composition ... the distant mountains and colorful autumn foliage just helped things along!

Techs: Canon 50D, Canon 10-22 @ 19mm. 1 second, f/11, ISO 100. Polarizer. Tripod. Blend of two exposures for sky and land.

This is gorgeous! I can just imagine hiking into the scene to wet a flyline.

Chris,
This is indeed a beautiful shot well captured by you through your keen eye, skill and persistence. I will be going up to the Adirondacks in two weeks and will be spending time in the Long Lake area and in the High Peaks area. I'll be looking for good landscape opportunities as well as trying to photography some birds in the local boreal habitats. Hopefully I'll come back with a 'big one' like you did on your trip. Thanks for sharing your image and your story.

Hey Chris,

Those are wonderful rays from the sun there. I like this, though I would crop just a bit off the bottom to lose that dead grass floating on the lower left of the creek.

I really like this but it would be awesomely cool if you could get all the red trees to pop more w/o going into garish. Would highlight the nice color that's already there.
