From a series I did a few years ago of a cheetah cub hunting lesson in Tanzania that had the good fortune to be published in Africa Geographic and shown on Nat Geo Wild's "Caught in the Act" . I reworked it somewhat and like it a bit better now.
It is fair to say it didn't end well for the little Thompson Gazelle fawn.

I believe the detail has improved Eric and it is a wonderful image that causes an emotional response. That episode of "Caught in the Act" is part of my video collection.
I remember the shot from the magazine long before I knew you here. Incredible. With todays software it's possible to improve many old images re quality; but the content has to be there.
Your 15 minutes my friend!!!

Excellent shot . A poignant reminder of predator and prey .
Congratulations on being in the Africa Geographic and Nat'l Geographic ! I know can say I know a Nat'l Geographic photographer
Birdie
Thanks Birdie...to be there at the right moment was a stroke of luck...I suspect most Nat Geo photogs spend weeks and months hoping to capture this type of interaction....sometimes its better to be lucky than good!

Thanks Morris....I have hopefully learned a bit over the time since this image was taken. It was certainly one of the most emotional times I've spent on safari and ultimately changed my view on witnessing kills. I always root for the predator, just because there are so few of them, but watching something die is very very difficult regardless understanding that it is the circle of life.

In general I agree it is very difficult to watch something die yet I have no trouble watching a mosquito die.
