I just returned from a one week trip to mostly the Grand Canyon but on my journey from the south rim to the north rim I drove out to Alstrom point for sunset and sunrise. Sunset didn't work but I think sunrise was nice.
I'll post some from the canyon later.

Nice shot!

Is 50mm wide on that camera, or about like 35mm on ff DSLR?

My guess is the 50mm is ~30mm equiv?

Lovely scene, stunning detail. That is definitely a sunrise place, although sunset can be good.

That's a good question and I don't know. The sensor size on this camera is 49.1mm x 36.7mm if someone knows how to calculate the equivalent vs. 35mm that would be great.

Mr Gale,
Tremendous light and composition with very natural post-processing.
In my opinion, it could be improved by cropping the top of the frame by a couple inches and using selective sharpening in some areas in the water to avoid sharpening artifacts.

Fred, I'll try your suggestions, they sound good.

Chas, if you go make sure you have a high clearance vehicle. The last mile or so you will be climbing over rocks and rock ledges. Also if you go in monsoon season like I did, keep an eye on the weather, you would not want to be out there in a rainstorm the road would be slicker than snot on a doorknob.

Going by the length of the diagonal, about 35.3 millimeters focal length, ff equivalent.

If you cropped the same dimensions as ff, 36.7mm ff equivalent for 50mm on that sensor.

So 35-37mm.

Again, that's a really nice shot.

Beautiful image, nice composition and an incredible sky. The colors of the mid and near landscape look a bit off to me but what do I know and I wasn't there. Still it is a beautiful image.

Really liking this image. It made me Google Alstrom Point to see where it was. We don't see a lot of Lake Powell images, but it looks like a very good place. Sort of like Dead Horse Point with more water.

I appreciate the large size, most images here are too small to appreciate.
