Yep! That's what I was thinking after I saw what I captured.
No photoshop trickery was used here. Just lightroom adjustments.
Never tried this before but it was the first thing that came to mind when I saw the assignment this week.
I pulled this off (stone knives and bear skins style) with a perfectly timed flash light, remote shutter release and lots and lots of practice test runs with my SIL.
This assignment by far has been the best learning experience I have had to date. I'm definitely going to invest in more gear to start capturing even better "shots" like this in the future. I think my 44 mag will be next.
When I asked my Son-in-law to help me with a photo assignment he kinda rolled his eyes and reluctantly agreed. When I told him what I needed him to do he was all smiles.
My neighbors weren't to happy last night I'm sure.
Wow! Great image Dave, and thanks for the back story which shows what good planning and perseverance can bring. Good luck this week, you have set the bar pretty high.

Thanks Mike! Glad you enjoyed it!
It was a fun assignment and my son-in-law (trigger guy) wasn't complaining any.

Thank you Jon!
I think that's the first "wow" I have ever gotten so I must have done something right.
And yep, the bar has been set high this week but it was already there before I posted my entry. Some seriously fantastic shots entered this week.
Wow! Thank you so much for the very kind words Kent!
I blame the "growth spurt" on the good folks that have been feeding me lots of good advice around here.
Well... that and I think I get lucky sometimes.
And yep! A learning tool is what Fred intended for these assignments. I learn a little bit more every time I've had a chance to get in on one of these and have enjoyed everyone.
Especially this one! My little 9mm never looked so good!
Now grab that camera and get shooting! The clock is ticking Mr.!

Dave, Wow and I mean Wow ! Very cool and you have my vote. Tell him he will get more accurate shots not tea cupping. Hate this iPad sometimes.
Don
Thank you for the kind words and the vote Don! I don't know how I missed your comments yesterday.

Yes it is Karen! I had no idea all those goodies were going to be in there let alone being able to capture them like that.
Hell, I was just wanting to get the fire from the muzzle blast. Sure was a nice surprise!
