This is a small series of underwater pictures taken with natural light at a local lake where I live. The model was pretty inexperienced and we struggled quite a bit with posing and holding her breath, etc. But we still swam away with some usable images.

Those are really nice for ambient lighting only. Gee you sure have clear water in your lakes.
I think image 2 would have been incredible if you could see her face better. The lighting in that image is really awesome.
Not too sure I like the tree in image 1. If the tree was gone, that might have been the best image.
Number three, I don't care for the pose or the bubbles.
Kudos to you and the model for attempting a much more difficult shoot, than typical.
thanks for sharing your work.
Thanks for your input. I agree with you on #2. It was a mess-up on my part. Had I tilted the camera lower....less flare and I wouldn't have cut off the dress. All I can say is that underwater photography can be very difficult, particularly with an inexperienced model since I only have 2 seconds to compose and shoot.
She really struggled....couldn't hold her breath long and had difficulties staying under. The tree actually provided something for her to grab onto in order to stay submerged, Then she's let go and quickly I'd grab a shot.
It's tough for the subject and it's tough on the photographer. But it's that randomness that makes it enjoyable, too.
And we got lucky regarding the clarity. A lot of shots were too murky to use.

just when i thought you couldn't produce anything better, you do. And you do with authority. These are great!
Well thanks a lot. I just have fun with it and don't plan ahead very much. Everything is pretty spontaneous and random, and oftentimes just comes down to luck.
