Haven't looked over here in months. This is awesome Mike!! I have been shooting falcons for over 35 years and I must say this is one of the best shots I have ever seen. Just wicked good. Love the angle and the pose. Congrats
Exceptional flight shot - you should contact the Peregrine Fund and see if they are interested in using that photo in some of their publications and/or on their web site.
Your image is so wonderful - but protect yourself! Get your name and email address and copyright sign across part of the bird...otherwise someone somewhere will download your image and claim it is his/her image - and sell the photo to a local newspaper/magazine. This does happen - I have a friend who took a spectacular photo of a school of rays (fish) in the Gulf of Mexico. National Geographic wanted to purchase the photo - from a fellow in Russia who had downloaded it to his web site and then contacted them. Meanwhile, small newspapers in different parts of the world were running it on page 1...
So beware - it happens..and this is a great photo of an iconic bird.
The light on this bird is jaw dropping awesome. First post, first image post so I guess this is the first Peregrine image you have ever taken too
That would have been a difficult one to follow any other way than hand held! Nice work on panning with this speedster. The background sure is complimentary too, just love the colors and light and the detail you have on top of this bird, excellent.
All good praise hear from everyone. I have one possible suggestion and that is perhaps altering the placement of the Peregrine in the frame a bit to move the head/eye from dead center. For me a position in the frame a bit higher and perhaps with less to the right could strengthen a great shot even more.................
Although you could gracefully retire with this one fantastic post I hope you have much more to share
