Tom,
Thanks for quick respond. Comparing your test on 200L II and with Brian's new adapter test page. There is high hope for the Techart V3/2 will works with 135L on A7rII, Although I more interested to the "switch" because I do care about AF-C while videoing.

I ordered mine from ebay. I only have access to the 40 and 200mm
Looking at the translation (posted above) it looks like the version 3 and 2 are the same with 3 adding the extra mode with the switch, but it says not to use that mode on the A7rII.
Interesting as there is no way my Metabones IV T works past 300 on the 100-400II, not very well at 24 on the 11-24L, and fair on the 24-70II at or near 70. So for me, not well across the entire spectrum. My Metabones is updated to the latest FW. It works well with the 35L but at times will lock up and I have to shut the camera down a couple of times. My date code is UT.

Sounds if you got a bad metabones...I would take it up with the company.

I think it is fine. It conforms to the same things I have read from others. Not working from 300 to 400 on the 100-400II and so on is pretty much in line with many other posts I have read.
Quick report on my old 35L + A7rII with the following adapters:
Commlite: flutters in and out of focus in all modes-- will not lock. Two adapters tried.
No-Name: Nothing. Can't eve read aperture.
Metabones IV (firmware unknown): Can't even read aperture; no focus. Adapter to lens interface was uncomfortably tight.
Viltrox II: Bingo. Locks quick in good light, moderate in low light. Nails focus. Fit like charm.

Yes, there are too many reports of the 100-400II not working pas 300mm and of the 2.8/100L not working with the latest Metabones adapter/firmware. Also, there are quite a few users seeing big difference between Metabones IV standard and 'T' versions while Brian says they behave exactly the same. For other lenses there are also conflicting reports.
It all doesn't add up. My guess is that David has not tested thoroughly enough, or there are a lot of bad Metabones IV adapters out there, or the whole adapter game is just tricky and depending on unknown factors ;-(
BTW, David's finding for the 2.8/200L with other adapters also conflict with some reports here on the forum ...

On my 100-400 I it works fine if you set the distance switch on the lens to the longest setting.
Second week with new a7r ii. Two lenses of note I've tried, 100-400 ii and 600mm version one. 100-400 works well as long as I'm more than about 20 feet away from the subject being focused on an its daylight. Works in single shot auto and constant auto. Was shooting with the 600 this morning. Would not lock on during civil twilight, but auto single shot worked fine after sunrise. Below was f/9, 1/200s (high sync with 3rd party flash) and ISO 400. Lighting was with an Einstein and 86" reflective umbrella at about 35'. >100% crop. They're not as fast as when used on my canon bodies, but worked well. I've also tried my 24-70 ii, 70-200 ii, 85 1.2, and TS-E lenses and they work pretty much as others have said. I'm more than pleased so far.

Try that
Great, I will try that.
Edit: Tired it. It works better but is still hit and miss, very slow and on anything that is a challenge at all, it will not focus. Go to 300 or less and again, it is faster, with 100 being the fastest to focus and more consistent focus, at 300 or less.

Great shot Jim, IŽd like to ask about 85/1.2.. do you have v.I or II ? If v.2 how fast is focusing...is it possible to capture a child running towards you? I read that v.I is not usable but v.II works like a charm. Just need to confirm it from someone.. thank you,Mark

I have the second version. Not sure about child running towards me. My subjects have been more or less stationary.

thx Jim, if you try in the future on moving subject pls share the results with us. Just now I have FD 85/1.2L and planning to buy 85/1.2 L II in the future for A7r II.

My adapter came in. It's actually the Techart EOS-iNexII not the version 3 with the switch.
But I'm happy to say it works great with my two Canon lenses the 40mm and 200f2.8L II.
I had a difficult time updating the firmware, my A7RII would not recognize the adapter until it was on version 3 firmware. Luckily I still had my A7R to do the update.
The 200mm was tracking cars driving down the street in front of my office this morning using af-c / wide mode without issue.

This is great. So it works with 200L 2.8 II in PDAF unlike Metabones 4? Good to know, because if you read Brian Smith's guide, you'd think that this lens is a no go. If I still had my 135L I would have mailed it to you to try with the Techart. But the 200L 2.8 II is a good lens to consider with that adapter.
ILCE-7R2 (A7RII) support
Autofocus improvements
Fixed issue when Aperture Preview is assigned on A7 series to Focus Hold button (WO button of the adapter)

I'm going to let someone else go first I have a photo shoot coming up next week and can't risk bricking my adapter which is typically just used for TS lenses in any case...

On SAR in comments someone wrote they updated and 135L works now. I returned my metabones 4 so I cannot try. Waiting for people in the USA to wake up and try it. Please try 135L and 85 1.8 first!!! I know Fred will let us know ASAP!
