p.3 #4 · Nature's Awakening

This photo has all the elements to make it a great one: alpenglow, ethereal mist, reflections, strong foreground element, contrast and sense of near-far perspective. On the other hand, sometimes, by moving a few feet in one direction or another, we get a different composition that is as good or better.

In this case, the two middle distance dark islets give it a static and "too balanced" appearance. The islet on the right could use a little more shadow detail. One might even consider (if at all possible from another perspective) to eliminate one dark islet and compose the overall scene such that the remaining islet is the only darker object in the scene. Perhaps moving more to the right and leave out the two darker objects on the left side? On the other hand, it is also possible that the terrain may render this access impossible.

Overall, a very nice photo.
