Congratulations to mitesh for winning Feature Thread of the Week with 3 votes - View Previous Winners
Some recent images from a day trip to Bombay Hook NWR in Delaware. Sorry for jamming so many images into one thread, but I didn't want to clutter the board with multiple similar posts. Please feel free to offer suggestions or to leave a comment. Hope you enjoy
EDIT: Thanks to those who contributed to the missing IDs .
Glad to see you out with your lightweight walk-around setup Mitesh. Did you shoot these handheld?
I like the look of these...they have a very peaceful look with a bit more of a muted/pastel colour tone. Too many good ones to pick a favourite. Now I'm going to look up the IDs of some that I don't know as it helps me learn my birds.

A super set Mitesh. Lot's of great shots, but 1, 4, 6, 8, 11, 13, 14, 15, and 19 stand out ~ Ron
Thanks, EnBen!

Thanks for the comments, Geoff. These were all handheld. I always throw the tripod in the car, but hardly ever use it. I know I really should use it for better results.
I went into this outing looking for different colors and textures of the place to use in the backgrounds of the images to add interest, especially since the subjects are all commonly seen and photographed. For the most part, I was satisfied with how these turned out. I made a few compositional errors, like placing a few of the birds too close to center.

great shots!
Were you in a blind or did you have special bird attracting deodorant?
Thanks, David! I had my good luck charm with me (my daughter) and she was my spotter! She helped me keep track of which perches seemed to be favored by the birds.
Top notch Mitesh! As you have already pointed out some are a bit too centered but.... they are damn good looking it almost doesn't matter. It's shots like these that originally got me interested in this forum. Man these are sooooo good. They are a joy to sit back and scroll through. This is one of my favorite sets in a long time, well done
