Welcome back! What beautiful light in these, that is one sweet spot. #1 is my favorite of the two. And how cool with that adapter, I hadn't heard of that one before, but with that adjustable ND that really makes it sweet and functional. I wish there was something like that for the Nikon System.

Thanks Jim! It was fun in New Zealand even though it very cold and rainy. It was great taking the kids skiing, ice-skating, bungee-jumping, etc.
Regarding the adapter. It's awesome but I'm afraid it does not work directly on a Nikon body. It must have an adapted lens on a mirrorless body. It's convenient having the adapter with built-in 1 to 10 stops variable behind the lens. Here is a picture of it.

Fred these are excellent, the tree branch isn't a problem IMO
because if you look at the overall shot the right forest of trees overlaps also.

Thanks Tim,
I tried a few composition angles and thought this one would work when carefully checking the LCD. I could not make the entire tree silhouette show 100% against the brighter background regardless of my position. I'm glad at least the reflection could be can be seen without any obstacles.
Take care,
Fred
Hey Fred... I like them both! Great find! I think the second shot would look great printed and framed in your house. At least that is what I would do with it. Lovely shots bro!
#1 caught me a great way Fred, just a lot of good feel to it and the simplicity is easy to quickly appreciate.
#2 is my pick, I really like the additional depth in the darks and possibly the first one could benefit a bit more from it perhaps too? I like in #2 how the tree gives a pull upward toward the sky. I like everything about this image, it makes me smile and relax....................that's a good thing
The ND Throttle is sweet, never knew there was such a thing!
Wow. They are both great. What wonderful light. After looking at them for a while, I have to settle on the second as my favorite. I can't put my finger on why, maybe I like that reflection a little better.
Taking good landscape images on family vacations is a very difficult task and you have done well.
