Absolutely love these shots, Bob! My faves here is probably No. 3 and 7.

I see you're still doing the auto-ISO. Was the lights on her changing constantly, is that what was going on? You can see her lit up in 7, for example, but no light on her in 5. Usually a performance like this, one would think the lighting would be constant.

My only nit is one that is a challenge for me as well. I always want to shoot right into their eyes, and that means shooting as tight as possible. But the thing is, she's playing a guitar and she's at a festival. So at least for a few shots, I'd pull back wide to really show where she's at and what she's doing. While No. 7 is my fave, I'd rather see the whole guitar in the shot.

Anyway, I know she must love these! Great job!

Very well done. All shots looking good and a good variety of compositions.

In addition to Ron's comments on including a wide 'situational' shot, I think shots like #1, #4 & #8 need more of the guitar showing, or crop it out entirely.

Ron, I'm really trying to get away from Auto-ISO, sometimes though when I get "nervous", I forget and fall back to old ways, I have another shoot coming up on Saturday, see if I can do better, thanks for keeping tabs on me.

I must admit, I probably did get carried away with getting the "close" shots, it was a very busy venue, no room at all, in front of a store, we were actually right in the area leading up to the front door of the store, I do have some normal shots, showing the guitar and everything, my thought on this was, I wanted to give her the special shots, that I could only provide, her Mom and friends were all taking their cell phones pictures, etc, I think you can see those shots are somewhat cluttered. But, I will try to broaden my horizons next time

Jim, thanks for taking the time to look and comment, both you and Ron touched on taking a broader ranges of angles, will try to do better next time

Again, guys thanks for the comments

Here's a couple shots of how busy it was

These are very nice. There's only one photo with both her hands in the frame. Maybe you have a few more like that.

It's hard when images of the same location but with changing light get posted together. The changing WB makes sense, with one image lit by warm sun and another lit by skylight. If they were to be presented as a set, you might want to compromise and move the differing skin tones closer together.

dmacmillan, good point, these were all taken over a 3 hour time period, last ones as the sun was setting, those shots her right face side was all pretty red from the setting sun. I learned a lot from this shoot, have to keep trying to get better
Thanks for taking the time to comment

This last one might be my new favorite! The background really works as a cool artsy setting, other than the lobster pillow attracting attention. Nice job! What are you shooting this weekend?

I like the pull backs. They explain the tight cropping. You did a great job given the circumstances!

dmacmillan, thanks , they were so many distractions with such a small spot to setup, I gave her over 500 photos to choose from, hopefully she'll find something to suit what she was looking for, it was fun
