Great clicks and very well done!! Seal Rock?

Thanks Jim. You nailed the location for the seascapes I have been going to that area for years, this was the first time I spent shooting at Seal Rocks

Great shots. Love the lying in the sand angle for 1 & 2.

Thanks David!

The shallow dof and low angle really work well on the first ones. Good stuff.

Thanks for the thoughts and nice words Steve

Karl Witt wrote:
Nice brown birds Nice to see you posting Tim and I know you like the Guillemots as a subject too. Looks like you too were not seeing much sun

I like the comp of #4, must have been a very still and peaceful time as the 20s exposure doesn't show much water movement even.
#5 is rather surreal, could be rocks rising above clouds or rocks obscured by ground fog or water movement..............calming

Take care buddy
Karl

That's right, very little time without clouds on that trip. The softer light does make for more accurate exposures on these guys. If you see an individual feather their coloration is quite interesting.

4 had very shallow water, maybe 1/4 of an inch, it makes for a nice sheen. I do like the cloud, surreal look of the last.

Thank you Karl, appreciate it buddy!

Nice to see you posting again Tim . The comp in #1 is perfect and the exposure is very nice its tough to get the balance between darks and whites correct you did, your long exposures are also spot on Nice comp and crop on #4 thats my pick

Thanks for the well thought out comment Michael, I appreciate it

Its been even longer since I posted Tim but its only the other day that I visited the site in a very long time and was looking down through all the familiar names and wondering where you had gotten to. But good to see you are still taking great bird shots and now even moody landscapes with wide angle lenses!
Cheers,
Martin

Hi Tim. Nice set. My favourites are #3 for the inclusion of nice green vegetation and #4 seascape with the nice leading lines of the rocks.

Hey Tim - I missed your homecoming, glad to have you back!!

These are terrific, especially that last long exposure landscape. A quintessential Northern Pacific coastline shot.
