This photograph is from Chilkat River preserve in AK. It shows an interesting behavior. An incoming bald eagle buzzes another eagle that is standing on the ground. The attacking eagle extends his feast but keep his talons retracted to "hit" the standing bird. The standing bird swings backward extending his talons to defend against the incoming bird. Just like a boxer defending against his opponent. The defending eagle is completely inverted. The entire action happens in a split second and is difficult to capture with both birds in ideal position. I hope you enjoy it.

It is really stunning that you were able to capture this shot so well, everything sharp and in focus. It looks like a difficult one for exposure too. The contrast between the eagles and the snow makes for a striking image. Are the eagles over snow in the picture, or is it water?

thank you, the BG is snow. I used manual exposure to set it for the eagles.
