Superb shots Herb, what an experience. I have them come in the middle of the night to my suet feeder I had to wrap the pole in metal to keep them from climbing it.
Who needs to travel to game parks and from there pack into vehicles to see wildlife when there are Herb's many decks. 😎. Wonderful series with 2 (mouth slightly open), 4 (peeking at the viewer) and 5 (taking a bite) as my favorites.

So awesome Herb to have them to photograph in your garden
That would be so cool if that is the same bear grown up.
Last one is too cute!
Have a great weekend!

Great shots and lovely backstory
Just paint that branch with bitter aloes. He wont come chewing again. Was the way to stop my horses chewing and ring-barking trees. To watch them dragging their tongues across the grass afterwards, trying to get rid of the aloes was quite hysterically funny
