For me, this image does a marvelous job of capturing the scene. There is an immensely powerful mood here, and I'm not sure I like it – it's dark and foreboding, and almost gives me chills – but that's what makes it so powerful and successful as an image! Really expertly done, and the art here is strong. I can really feel a powerful respect and awe for the land and the weather forces at play here, not merely the "Wow, that's beautiful!" reaction that is more common with so many good images.
