Hi guys! I am slowly beginning to take a few client jobs here and there again. Channing's family came to me from California - I was a little nervous as this age can be SO unpredictable, but it couldn't have gone better. She was so charming and full of personality - I am in love with this session! Sorry for the massive over-share, but I had so many favorites that I cannot narrow them down any more.

Thank you!! Mom had very specific requests for locations - she wanted green and lush and then flowers - she pointed out all of my flower pics on my blog. We really lucked out this year as we had a wet winter, the poppies have not bloomed here in 7 years. She came at the right time!
I'm really glad I found you here Ms. Holloway. I've got twins and was looking for new ideas on flickr and dpreview and your work with children stood out from the rest. I can't copy your work but it does give me a drive to do better so to speak.
I have read that you work almost entirely using natural available light. I have always shot using available light as well and only very recently have bought myself an SB910 which I mostly used as bounce flash off walls or other objects.
My question is, looking at pic 22, which looks like that the sun is behind the girl's head providing a rim light, how did you find the fill light for her face?
Just an extraordinarily great set!!!! So well done! The family shots starting with #13.......just so spectacular! Excellent job catching just the right moments! Images to be treasured for a lifetime!
Hi Lisa, I can appreciate why you had such a hard time narrowing this set down! My personal preference is for the shots where the little girl is looking more at us than at other things. I also like the portraits with the butterflies on the summer dress, as opposed to the pink outfit -- that outfit is bright and cheery and Springy. Finally, I like the pics with all 4 family members!
Not helping narrow down much, but here are my favorites: 2, 4, 6, 8, 12, 13, 17, 26. Great set!

Thanks for your reply Lisa. The tutorial you gave is very informative and it does make a lot of sense. Time to hunt for similar locations in my area now. I've also come across a photo explaining how you shot the baby pic on a towel at your garage. Similar environment of light minus the backlight. Love the way how you use what is available to set up.
