I was was almost set up, went back inside for a soda. As I came back out, she was at salvia. She saw me, she flew away. I waited...waited...adjusted my settings...waited... pruned a flower or two....waited.....waited.....
90-minutes later, she entertained me for less than a minute
Congrats Ted...they are teases aren't they? Very nice beginning to hummer season. We had our first as well, a male, but alas it didn't cooperate for photos.

They come mid-June when my scarlet Monarda starts blooming.
But this early Spring, I decided to buy whatever plants I can find in bloom from March til June that hummers like.
Not much of a selection of in bloom flowers here. But my beardtongue just had one bud open today so who knows maybe I will see them before Summer arrives
Have a blast with your hummers Ted
What's the name of your pretty flowers - I love them Thanks!
Nice! I've put my feeder out, and I've seen a little sporadic activity but nothing worth trying to set up and shoot yet. Once it gets a little warmer, there will be 2-4 at a time vying for position.
