That is the sweetest water shot that I have ever seen. I would be tempted to crop it a little tighter just to have more of that great light filling the frame. Great job.
Gorgeous! Those rocks never get old. I've climbed to the top of that one quite a few times, it's a great angle and tough to reach, but you ruin everybody else's photos of the spot lol so I try not to do it unless I'm alone.
Jim, this Thursday is a mega-low tide at sunrise, so despite it being predicted to be grey and possibly rainy, I'm definitely going to try and hit up some tide pools in North Laguna Beach, if you care to join...
I love this photo, but I think maybe the whole thing could use some brighter highlights. The splash of water in particular just seems a bit too dim, as if the sun itself cares about the red channel as much as you do. ;-)

Hmm, that seems vaguely familiar. Count on you to find the best place to be when that lighting hit! Wonderful capture. Jim.
Dave
Ha ha, I bet Dave. It's too bad that even though we were probably only a 100 yards a part, that with all those rocks in between us there was no easy way for me to get your attention.
Thanks!
Jim

Thanks so much Kevin. I haven't tried it yet, but you read my mind! After I was all done with this I was thinking that perhaps a tighter crop could be cool too. I caught a few of these wave splashes while the sun was still at that angle, so I might try a crop on one of those.

Great catch Jim!
Luck goes to the prepared.
Backlighting at sunset, golden!!
Dan
Hey Dan,
I am glad you liked this! And yes, being prepared is so important, but also familiarity. It's a good reason why we should revisit locations. I knew there was a chance that the sun could backlight this, and when I went back to this after leaving Dave to shoot more into the actual sun at a spot he liked, I was not disappointed.
