I was fortunate to have recently visited Patagonia with some fellow FM'ers on a photo tour with Gregg B and Mark M. Having never visited, I wasn't really sure what to expect - but WOW. The place is amazing, with scenery that just never ends. The diverse nature of the place leaves you breathless, tired and exhilarated - as well as feeling you could have done more. This was one of those evenings. Having never witnessed lenticular cloud formations, I found myself more in awe of the sheer spectacle of the show instead of capturing the ever changing formations. Here are a few I was able to capture (when my jaw wasn't dragging on the ground). Thanks for looking - and CC's are always welcome and appreciated.

Todd,
Great captures of an awesome evening! I like the comp of #1, my eye keeps going to that wicked sky in #2 and I like the way it all flows in #3.
Dave
Glad to hear you had a great time in Patagonia. Those are some crazy clouds for sure with #1 being my favorite. In #2 and 3, those are incredible clouds for sure. #2 though feels cut off at the bottom, and both #2 and 3 the ground layer seems too dark. One can see from how bright the sky is in the last 2 where it pokes through openings in the clouds that the ground should then be equally as bright.
Dan - thanks - yes, I was very lucky (as we all were) - a great trip.
Dave - thanks (will be in touch regarding Zion soon)
Jim - I always appreciate your insight. Funny, I actually tried lightening up the ground in these. I think the shear "darkness" of the clouds sucked the light out of the ground.
Rob - I don't think you are that far off - it did seem like there were a lot of familiar faces/names down there. One thing for sure - you can't go wrong with an April visit.
And, thank you to everyone else for taking the time to comment....
Those are some pretty awesome clouds. The landscape below is not too bad either. I like all 3 but I think I would like the first one even more if the foreground didn't seem so bright compared to the sky, though that might be the actual conditions you experienced. Well done on capturing these.
Tuan - thanks for the comments. I really didn't do too much regarding the difference between the clouds and the ground - conditions were changing so quickly (cloud formations/coverage/etc.), that the way the light would hit the ground was very dynamic. It was quite a show - and something I won't soon forget. It's an amazing place - can't wait to go back.
And, thank you to everyone else for your comments - I do appreciate them.
Ok... Those are the coolest clouds I've ever seen posted here!
I like the comp in #1 the best but #3 has it for me. Those are such crazy clouds you could have almost just shot them by themselves!
Kudos for being in the right place at the right time! Wow!
