It was Wood Ducks This Morning Out Back. 4/14/15. No sign of the Hooded Mergansers, so I took some photos of the Wood Ducks.

Canon 7D II w/ Canon 500mm f4 II and I.4x III. I did take the 1.4x for a bit when they came in too close, so one of these might be with the 500mm only.

Oh my gosh, Mike. These are awesome. Better shadow detail, and with smaller areas of white, the blown detail is less of an issue. Besides, these are extremely difficult in that respect. But the lighting, that fantastic low angle view, color, background and sharp detail make these supreme in my book. I guess #8 has to be my favorite...no, wait, #6 is my favori.....no, well, yeah, #7 is my... uh, no, I think #3 is my favorite.... hmmmm, oh hell, they're all my favorite.

#8 is my pick with the lovely detail in #2 also a fave. You certainly got tight with some fine light.
