Dig it. The flare bottom right is a side effect of these shots. I know it all too well. Terribly difficult to manage. Maybe be able to clone it out. Great warm/cool going on here

Thanks, I usually manage it with shooting 3 frames, making a pano and using pt gui masking to remove it. But that wasnt possible with this shot!
It should clone out OK - the image is likely destined for postcards and possibly a calendar so will tidy it up a little more before then.

Rob, expertly captured without question
Would you mind describing the process you went through to capture these extremes?
Matt
Hi Matt, I shoot into the sun quite often so mostly understand that I have a big dynamic range to shoot.
I'd been shooting the scene watching it develop for a few hours by this point, I had the sky dialed down by a hard grad already, and had chosen to shoot with the a7r over the 6d.
Had to hit the right timing with the sun coming over the horizon, my friend shooting behind me shouted 'sunstar!' and I thought it would be a good idea, but I wanted a LE so threw on the little stopper and dialed in a guestimage exposure.
Final image came out quite close to the raw file, had some cloning to do to tidy up a few bits, little contrast here and there.
I've blown the sun somewhat but thats pretty much inevitable in this shot , printed it looks fine
