Wait, I thought Nikon's excellent DR > everything Canon can offer?

Canon is better at high iso and better performer in most aspects ( beside low iso DR )

This guy is lost. Hasn't he been to DXO's website where the D7200 gets a far better score then the 7D2. Most of the sports guys I talk to are begging for more low ISO DR.

I haven't been too impressed with my 7D2. I get more keepers with my 70D and 5D3 using AI SERVO. It focuses fine in live view or one shot, but often misses in Ai Servo. I'm not sold on the high ISO either... Still too much noise over 1250 for my liking.

I'm almost certain I'll sell it for either a 1DX or upcoming 5DIV depending on specs.

Not my impression at all. I'm very impressed with the 7D II. I use AI Servo for everything.

I have read most all the reviews and the tech(?) sites like DXO among others that rate the 7D2 poorly. I have read some claimed 'in the field' reviews and the results are different.

The one I use was purchased in early November and unfortunately the electronic focus was incorrectly set and apparently missed by QC. CPS reset the electronic focus and all is good. (That is good for me not for the tech reviewers.)

Nikon doesn't have a competitor for the 7D mark 11, the D300 series is long dead. So in my book this comparison is pointless.

Comparing High ISO performance is prone to error due to methodology issues, such as not using the same lens (t-stop and aperture variance), matching absolute exposures, matching raw processing parameters, etc.. This is particularly important when comparing modern cameras of the same class since they're all so close in noise performance, which itself might argue that the differences aren't important.

Here are ISO 25,600 conversions using the samples at imaging resource (7DM2 raw, D7200 raw). ACR/LR doesn't have support for the D7200 yet so I processed in Nikon's Capture NX-D 1.2.0 using a neutral profile, with NR and sharpening disabled, and WB keyed off the grey patch in the color chart. I processed the 7DM2 in ACR 8.8 using a neutral profile, with NR and sharpening disabled, and WB keyed off the grey patch in the color chart. Both were then downsampled to 8MP and sharpened in PS with USM 30/0.5/0.

100% Crop #1 of 8MP Image, D7200 on Left, 7DM2 on Right
100% Crop #2 of 8MP Image, D7200 on Left, 7DM2 on Right

Full-sized 8MP Images:
7DM2 ISO 25,600
D7200 ISO 25,600

At 4:56 he states that both cameras has WiFi capability. I can't seem to find how to enable it on the 7DII. Did he actually use the cameras?

Perhaps capability is different than ability. Isn't a Wi-Fi grip needed on the 7D2 to enable Wi-Fi?

In all honestly I would have to rate both cameras poorly. The styling is both pedestrian and downright uninspired. Even from the front, Nikon looks like a hodge-podge clutter of dials and unnecessary indentations that do little more than create a look of presumptiveness to an onlooker. The Canon tries to go with a more minimalist look, but ends up looking boring like every other DSLR out there without any differentiation whatsoever.

This is sad b'cos I know Canon has within itself the ability to innovate when it comes to minimalist styling, just look at some of their era-defining classics like the AE-1, F-1, etc.

Both cameras do a fine job of providing many photographers with the tool they need to produce excellent photographs. I suppose that one could regard either as being somewhat better than the other, depending upon your particular perspectives, but neither is likely worth switching brands over.

So far my 7D2 is holding up very well compared to my 1DX in terms of AF. In fact, I think in low contrast, dim light it grabs initial lock quicker. AI-servo has been pretty solid.

Never going to compete against the 1DX for high ISO though.

It would seem that DxO has a different opinion of the D7200's sensor output than what Mr. "The Canon, in most cases, looks better to my eye" Video Guy. D7200 at 24.5 bit Color Depth & 14.6 EVs DR vs. 22.4 bits Color Depth and 11.8 EVs DR for the 7D2. From...

Smaller buffers enable the photos to shoot through to the memory card faster. Of course that is better!

I did consider that but decided it was misleading unless the reviewer pointed out that it is an accessory to the Canon but not the Nikon. That would be a very important distinction, not to be missed as this was a product A versus product B comparison.
