Great shots Larry. Nice and sharp. Perfect exposures in all of them. How do you like the combo of bodies you have?
Did you consider the 7d2 before getting the 5DIII?

Hi Nig,
Thank you for your comments.
In regards to your two questions:
Having both the 1D Mark IV in combination with the 5D Mark III gives me a great deal of versatility for a number of different photo opportunities. Each body has its' positives and negatives.
Yes, I did consider the 7D Mark II. In fact I did purchase one. This model has many positives to it, however, I had an AF issue with my copy. It was tack sharp using my 100 - 400mm lens, but extremely soft when using my 500mm. After trying to use "Dot Tune" and "FoCal" calibrations with the 500mm lens and over 11K clicks, I sent it to Canon. Canon stated that the unit had an AF assembly problem and they electronically corrected it. After its' returned, my 100 - 400 as well as my 500mm were still soft. I contacted Canon and they wanted me to send my 500mm lens and the 7D Mark II to them so that the could calibrate the body to the lens. Red flags came to my mind and I returned my copy back to the dealer. Instead of getting another 7D Mark II, I decided to purchase a 5D Mark III. I just did not want to mess with another 7D Mark II. The 5D Mark III was just super right out of the box. In fact, there seems to be less noise in low light conditions in comparison to both my 1D Mark IV and the previous 7D Mark II.
For others reading this, there are 7D Mark II bodies that seem to be functioning very well for other photographers, however, the above is my opinion and I would prefer not to get into a discuss with this topic. It's already been mouthed to death.
Thank you for the questions Nig,
Larry
