p.1 #1 · Adobe comes up with an universal RAW format
Adobe is continuously showing that they want to be the default RAW conversion for digital photographers out there.
After implementing support for almost every camera out on the market on its Adobe RAW Converter, Adobe now adresses the issue that sometimes keep digital photographers awake for hours: "Will I be able to open these files 20 years from now?"
Adobe came up with a universal RAW format (named DNG - Digital Negative) and a RAW converter that converts camera RAW formats into the new one.
With this, you're guaranteed (as long as Adobe doesn't go bankrupt) that you'll be able to open all your files without a problem in the future.
