Nice series. I think the B+W might work better for "Rock."
I think for "Rock" in color, I'd take the red saturation down about 5 or so points in color layer blending mode.
All great shots.
Mark,
Thanks and I wrestled with it for a little while. I desaturated the reds 16 points and when I dropped them more it didn't look right. At the time of the shoot everything was was blazing orange. I will drop them down a bit more though. After you look at it a few more times it does need a little less.
Thanks Craig and Sasha. Craig, the new shot of the canyon really drew me into it. The light wasn't too bad for the shit either consideribg it was late morning. A lot of potential there. Sasha, I tend to like the monochromes better myself. I must be weird.
Image #4 is my favorite.
But I have some questions on your photos. Are they all single shots or some of them are HDR?
When I look at the images #1 and #3, my head is spinning and dizzy.

Kee,
Thanks and no HDR. Single exposures. If your head is spinning and dizzy you may want to lie down.
Quite unique images for this location. I am really enjoying looking at them. The color image is nice but I must say the details become a lot clearer and more striking in the black and white version, and for that reason, I think I prefer it. Secret Canyon is beautiful ... I like the hidden details such as the footprint leading from bush to bush, as well as the light and the way it accentuates the textures found in the snow. Canyon's Edge, though, is perhaps my favorite. All around well done!

Chris,
Thanks and the monochrome does a great job getting the details out. I do have a process I use to blend them together. I may have to try it on this one.
Thanks again for your thoughts on the images.
