I wasn't sure how close we were, thinking you were possibly in Chicago.
If you ever need anything contact me.
You can PM me and we can exchange emails and cell numbers.
I shoot for The Woodstock Independent so every day is something fun for me.
Ken.

Thanks, Dave! I shoot to show for the Houston Ballet and their productions were just amazing! They put as much into their sets, costumes and lighting, as they did into their dancers.
I think you need to go visit Knoxville.
I don't know what the restrictions on cameras would be in Knoxville for the Nutcracker. The biggest camera I would bring is my Sony RX 100, original series.

Another great year of Nutcracker shots! For me, I'll be in my usual tiny community center for four shows next week. I'm so jealous...
Sorry, Steve, nothing to be jealous of, in terms of the venue. This is an old old theatre in Chicago. Lighting is terrible. But the talent for a pre-professional school is really amazing.
In the spring, we're in one of the best, most modern theatres in Chicago. Then you can be jealous!
I'm going the last day of the Joffrey nutcracker performance. It will be the first time my wife and I have been to the ballet as well as our first Nutcracker and we can't wait. I was wondering were you using your 70-200? Presumably at 200? I'll be sitting in the "orchestra" seating area row T. Maybe I can get some shots, but I won't want to be disruptive.
A beautiful and well captured set of delightful colors and incredible action! Love the whole set but 2,3,11,12 and 18 really stand out to me! Killer stuff!

I range from 70 to 200 depending on whether I'm shooting the entire stage or zooming in on a solo dancer. I can assure you that you cannot photograph the Joffrey Nutcracker, and even if you could, the sound of your shutter would be extremely distracting unless you had a silencer on it. Even in Quiet shutter mode, it's distracting. I'd recommend just enjoying the show. It's hard to really enjoy when you're watching through the lens.
