p.2 #1 · Senior Mini Session

I'll go with the flow and put #1 down as my favorite. Beautiful girl and a gorgeous smile. Only #5 doesn't work for me. I like the concept but it left her mouth in an awkward state. Great images, though.

These are beautiful - love the lighting and processing! #1 for me too - great shot.

I like the fence. To hell with the rest of you. Also I don't mind the concrete whatever.

Was the crazy orange cast from post, or was it mostly in-camera?

Thanks! those were my favorite 2 as well

the orange cast was from using a plugin for sun flares called knoll factory from re giant software. i use it often when I want to simulate golden hour sunset shots when I photograph on overcast days which I prefer sometimes for the soft even lighting on the face but want some of the golden glow. I place my sunflare on a separate black solid color layer set to screen blending mode and then I adjust the opacity, location and add a separate de-saturation layer to that layer specifically to reduce some of the orange depending on my mood. no matter the case its not always someones cup of tea a lot of times but im ok with that but still love the feedback.

thanks a lot!

i can definitely see what you are talking about. we took several frames of this shot for a "fun" shot and I had planned on photoshopping in leaves in separate layers but I couldnt find any free leave overlays online so i just posted it as is. I think more leaves would have added to the effect leaving less focus on the awkward lip expression and more focus on the scene as a whole.

thanks for the feedback!

sweet thanks Lisa! I have been trying to focus on my exposure lately so that I can have more dynamic scenes with good skin exposure and texture. Also I have been practicing with dodging and burning selectively on masked layers and under exposing my back grounds in post to give that off camera lighting effect with focus on the subjects. Thanks for sharing your photos, it inspires us one way or another!

Nice shots, what I didn't like about 2 was the fence seemed hard, cold, metal in stark contrast to the warmth and softness of the rest of the shot, just too jarring to me. Also her left arm gets lost in the sweater and is hard to place making it seem like she doesn't have a left arm at first.

A wardrobe change would have been awesome on this, but I dig the 1st a lot. Excellent lighting.
