I've posted some images from my July trip to Peru with my 13 year old son - but, sadly, I'm still working through PP for many of the photos I took.
My last post left off in the Manu Cloud Forest. We proceeded from there down to the Madre de Dios River for a 9 hour boat journey to the Manu Wildlife Center, a lodge in the Peruvian Amazon.
This post consists of some of the wildlife we saw during our time on and near the river. That day was a big highlight of the trip, and it was fun to go through these again to relive some of it.
I hope you enjoy them, and thanks for stopping by.

#1 Fasciated Tiger-Heron
#2 Cocoi Heron
#3 Black Caracara, plus a dead capybara
#4 Capybara in the river bank (largest rodent in the world, this one was about 4 ft. in length)
Great photos. I'm picking #8 and 10.
Nice to compare some similar birds with the Pantanal of Brazil. Your capped heron is also wonderful.
That's a trip I would also like to do some day!

Lovely images. Nice to see such variety, new (to me) birds and from such a unique place. Can you tell I am getting tired of looking at more Eagles? Keep 'em coming!
